Bible Records:

Records from a family bible, now in the possession of Marilyn Woodard Lentz. Marilyn believes that the bible once belonged to A. J. McFann. There is a page in the bible with dates of birth and death for David McFann (born 1772) and (we are assuming) his wife and children, among them David McFann, born 1806. For more information about this bible and a transcription of the records contained in it, see Andrew J. McFann's Bible on the "Family Bible Records" page of this site and the Andrew Jackson McFann page on Marilyn's family history web site.

Notes and Credits:

1. Andrew J. McFann's death certificate indentifies his parents as David McFann and Catherine Scott. As far as I know, this is the only evidence we have that identifies his first wife.

2. The married name (Searl) of Mary McFann is from a query on the Scioto County Query board written by Linda K. Clifford and is corroborated by the appearance of Mary F. Searl and other Searls in the household of David McFann in the 1870 census. I have contacted Linda and she has offered to send more information on this line.

3. The dates of birth and death for Andrew J. McFann are from his death certificate. The names and dates of the other children were derived from the census records.

4. Richard Hughes, Judith May, and Terry McFann-Turley contributed to the information that is reported on this page.
